Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 has been recorded on the largest pipe organ in Texas. Built in 1996, with over 10,600 pipes and 191 ranks, it is also the magnum opus of the Casavant organ building firm. This huge instrument is housed in the Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth and is named in honour of the mother of Van Cliburn, the legendary concert pianist.

Beethoven himself famously stated in 1825: 'I place an organist who is master of his instrument, first among virtuosi.'
